Academic Masterclass: Special training for riders with the ambition to develop themselves in the Academic Art of Riding
A masterclass consists of 3 weekends spread over the year, in which we train with a fixed group of people (max. 7) on the training tools ground work, work in hand, longeing and riding. This masterclass consists of daily theory, exercises and (semi-)private lessons. We work on your technique, feeling, body use and consistency so that you can develop yourself and your horse to a higher level. Optional is to include a 4th weekend about the seat, which can be a Centered Riding open clinic.
Some knowledge and experience in the Academic Art of Riding is necessary. For example by having followed lessons with an academic trainer of by having watched clinics with Bent Branderup or his licensed trainers.
Participants in this course should have the ambition and motivation to commit to the AAoR and practice their homework between weekends. Participants of previous masterclasses have developed to ride for Bent Branderup and to take the groundwork/longe proof and the ridden squire test, and/or developed to become Centered Riding instructors. These goals are not obligatory, but give an idea of the level of skill we aim for at the end of the masterclass.
In previous years, the Academic masterclass was only held in The Netherlands. From 2017 on, booking for this masterclass is open for groups consisting of 5-7 people in other countries as well.
